Arletty aka Léonie Marie Julie Bathiat was a worldly woman that lived a lifetime by the time she hit her mid-thirties. Before she became a film star, she made a name for herself as a model and as a vaudeville performer. With her immense talent and natural good looks, the slender yet shapely French dish eventually transitioned to film, earning roles in the films The Sweetness of Loving (1930), Je te confie ma femme (1933), The Tomboy (1936), and The Pearls of the Crown (1937). The taste of fame went sour for Arletty in 1945 when she started courting a German soldier, a no-no during World War II, and was misquoted about her love of France and the freedom of her ass.
